Mangrove makes it easy to directly record transport events such as incoming and outgoing material deliveries, or waste disposal trips, and account for the emissions from trip through a distance-based or fuel-based calculation methodology. Here’s how to do it:

Direct entry in Mangrove

  1. User can Add Event to directly record a specific type of transport trip, either while you Generate a batch, or separately in the Data Inputs of a project.
  2. Simply choose the relevant project locations as the origin and destination
  3. If Mangrove detects a valid driving route between the selected locations, it will automatically populate all relevant distance fields using the appropriate unit (e.g., kilometers or miles). You’re free to adjust this value manually if needed.
  4. After saving the transport event, Mangrove stores a GEOJson driving route as part of the event record. This serves as evidence for auditing and verification later on.

Tracking through a QR Tracker

This feature is separately configured by the Mangrove team on your account. Please speak to us about activating.

Data from transport trips can be collected through Mangrove’s QR-code based tracker - allowing frontline staff to log important information at various stages of the trip.

Generating QR Tracking Units

  1. A Mangrove user can generate any number of Tracking Units in Data Inputs > Tracking Units. Each Tracking Unit has:
  • an immutable ID
  • an associated QR code
  • a unique web URL
  1. Tracking Units can be downloaded in bulk as PDFs
  • Each PDF includes the unique QR code as well as project-specific instructions
  • These instructions are configured in the Tracking Units > Add Instructions dropdown
  1. Mangrove users can view the status of each tracking unit
  • Only tracking units that are not already in use can be activated for new transport trips or deliveries.

Need options for printing/attaching tracking units? Please discuss the optimal way to operationalize the QR tracking with the Mangrove team.

Collecting data with Tracking Units

  1. The Mangrove user shares the generated tracking units to the frontline staff who are making the deliveries and collecting information
  2. For each unit of delivery, frontline staff scans the QR code and records the relevant information at various stages of the delivery.
