To get the most value out of your Mangrove Systems MRV workspace, it’s critical to connect the right data sources. Bringing operational, environmental, and activity data into Mangrove enables powerful insights, automated reporting, and robust traceability. Projects can bring data into their MRV workspace in a few different ways:

1. Send data via the Mangrove API

If your project already collects data in your own databases or systems, you can implement a service to automate pushing this data directly to Mangrove using our API (documented here). The Mangrove API is designed to ingest a wide range of data types - timeseries data, geospatial data, unstructured files - that are used for accounting and reporting. An API token with the right permissions is generated by Account Admins. Ensure that your API token is scoped with Read and Write permissions for Data Collection. Read more on authentication here. This is a great option if you want full control over transforming the data and the integration logic and cadence. Mangrove can provide example scripts in Python to help get started.

2. Activate a standard integration within Mangrove

Mangrove offers a growing set of standard out-of-the-box integrations for common data systems such as CRMs and databases. These integrations are the fastest way to begin syncing data from supported providers. To explore the currently available integrations, reach out to the Mangrove team.

3. New Data Sources

For more specialized data sources — such as frontline systems, bespoke field collection workflows, or data collected by third-party operators — Mangrove can work with you to fetch that data on a scheduled basis into your account. We recommend reaching out to the Mangrove team early in your planning phase for such new systems.
